University Presbyterian Pre-School

UPPS has a longstanding reputation for being an inclusive, fun, nurturing, and safe environment for 2 through 5-year-olds for over 50 years — and for good reason. The director and teachers are pros in early childhood education, but their passion for nurturing children - and each child individually - truly stands out. My child (a COVID kid) started in the 3s class and can't wait to be in the Transitional 5s program this fall. He loves his school and has thrived. My daughter will be in the 2s class this fall. The basics: Tuition is affordable (and tuition assistance is available) and the times work for our family (drop off is between 8:45-9am depending on class, with pickup being around 11:45-12:45 depending on class.) Curriculums are age-appropriate and innovative and emphasize learning through play. Our family cannot recommend UPPS enough!

UPPS 's 5's class was an absolute highlight to my daughter's early childhood. I was constantly amazed at the creations that were brought home and the teachers treated us all like family. SO many great things to say about this awesome preschool!

UPPS is a FANTASTIC preschool! I found it by absolute luck and am very glad that I did. My daughter adores going every day. The "fives" class/PreK teachers are loving and teach a wide variety of engaging topics (great on-level science, math, reading, writing, and art lessons). They go on walking trips to UNC, they visit Ackland Art Museum, and lots more exciting trips during the year. The directors are terrific and make every effort to keep up on the latest and greatest in education for this age group. I highly recommend UPPS!
