One of the best schools your kid can go. Our kiddo graduated last year and we can say that he loved going to Wildflower every morning and enjoyed the different activities teachers had for him.
We were so lucky that a school like Wildflower exists in this area and our kid could experimented and benefited from an outdoor learning environment.
We are so grateful for the support and care all the amazing staff from Wildflower put into our kid through the years he was there.

We absolutely love Wildflower School. Enrolling our son to the Wildflower School was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We would definitely recommend it to every parent. This school and the staff have been a total game changer for my child. The wrap around approach and caring nature of the teachers have provided him with the confidence to engage in school. Their flexibility and the content of the classes has been great. Real life skills that can be applied today and in the future. Thank you for being a school with positive energy and the ability to think outside the box.

I don't have enough nice things to say about our first year at Wildflower! As a small business owner working with kids in the Triangle myself, I was very nervous to send my 2.5 year old off on his own for the first time. Everyone was so warm and comforting for our first day, and that was history. My son absolutely loves his time there and thinks all the staff are his "best friends". He comes home sweaty, dirty, and full of wonderful stories from his time in the Forest Classroom and on the farm, which is absolutely what we had hoped for in an outdoor program! He has grown tremendously this year in his socialization abilities with peers, and I know that's a lot to do with the wonderful guidance he receives at "school". We cant wait to start our next school year there in the Fall!

I'm thrilled to share my positive experience with Wildflower! I highly recommend this experience for parents seeking an enriching and child-centered experience for their children. Wildflower Nature Preschool, under the guidance of Director Shelley, epitomizes a culture of kindness, safety, love, and care. Shelley's commitment to creating a nurturing environment has profoundly impacted my child's growth, fostering a sense of belonging and emotional well-being. Her genuine care for the children radiates through every aspect of the school, making it a standout choice for parents who prioritize instilling curiosity in learning, emotional development, and a nurturing atmosphere. Wildflower’s dedication to nurturing children’s social and emotional well-being is evident. Their ability to teach boundaries with warmth, fostering trust and understanding, and teach right from wrong without shame, is truly inspiring. I am so glad I’ve given my child the gift of experiencing Wildflower!

After a difficult first semester at a public school, we decided to withdraw our son and enroll him in the Kindergarten class at Wildflower, where he had attended preschool the previous year. His time at Wildflower was exactly the Kindergarten experience he needed and we feel so grateful that he was able to have that experience!
Wildflower School is such a welcoming and wonderful environment for young kids– I often found myself wishing that the school went up through 12th grade. Even though we started the school year six months into the term, everyone was incredibly welcoming and made our son feel like part of the group almost instantly.
Here are some of the things we love about Wildflower: The four hour schedule is perfect for young children– plenty of time to play, learn, and connect with peers without being too overwhelming. The amount of time they spend outdoors (almost every day except for very inclement weather) is ideal for sensory-rich experiences that promote whole-child development and engaging learning opportunities. Children get to move their bodies throughout the day. Wildflower students have the freedom to follow their own interests and each child is honored for who they are. The teachers are incredibly creative and always had interesting new art materials, craft ideas, and other interesting projects for the students to engage with over different periods of time. The small class size of the Kindergarten class (7 students when he joined) was ideal for our son.
Shelley works tirelessly– not only to create and improve the magical spaces around the farm (e.g., the garden, farm animals, Swingtopia, Fairy Circle, something our son called the “mud slide” that we never got to see), but also to create an environment and the opportunities for families to come together as a community for social support and wholesome fun! Wildflower is truly a special place– a wonderful option for families that value nature, community, and an educational approach that aims to keep your child’s love of learning intact.
