WorldKids School SODO/Georgetown

Before enrolling at WorldKids SODO, our child had a part-time nanny four days a week. We were really used to a high-quality, one-on-one care while her mother and I would work and we felt a lot of anxiety about shaking that up for her. The first few weeks were difficult for her, but the teachers and administrators reassured us to trust their process. They were highly communicative each day about what was going better and what areas were still experiencing difficulty and what strategies they were employing to improve her success. Before long she was consistently having good days, then great days! She began telling us stories about her friends at school And showing lots of excitement about the project she worked on. Because WorldKids uses an app (TS Family) to communicate schedule info and individual updates with parents—as well as sharing pictures throughout the day—we always feel a continuous connection to our child, which is just so important to parents entrusting their child to other people. It builds and reinforces the trust between parents and the daycare provider. Our child has now been at WorldKids for a year and a half. During this time Josa Kerney has stepped into the role of lead administrator for the SODO team and I want to take a moment to express enormous gratitude to her dedication and professionalism in supporting the amazing staff that care for and teach our kids there so much. She has made an already incredible organization ever the better. She also understands kids, their transitions, and the intensity of responsibility and emotions that parents wrestle with when making decisions for the benefit of their children. I truly cannot imagine a better person to be in that role than Josa!

We have had a good experience. The teachers are what make this place great! Our little has gone since 8 months and every teacher she has had I could tell truly cared about her. She is currently with Iris and Isabel and they have a beautiful disposition and can tell they got into this work because they love children. I never worry about her care with them and she is creating her first friendships there and our parent group is very communicative and supportive.

Our kid has been at WorldKids Sodo since he was 5 months old - starting in their infant room and then a few months ago in the toddler classroom. In both classrooms, the teachers have been so wonderful with our kid in getting to know him, supporting his development and keeping my partner and I updated if there are any concerns. When our child was in the infant room, every single morning Teacher Daniela would check in to see how our child was doing and if there was anything they should be aware of. When I would come to do pick up, Teacher Marta and Teacher Noemi would be interacting intently with our kid whether that would be a sensory activity or singing to him. When our kid transitioned to the toddler classroom, it was a difficult adjustment but Teacher Dilliana really tried to get to know our child and was committed to make sure our child was comfortable in the new environment. The level of care and enthusiasm that the teachers and staff have for the kids there is really amazing and they bring this energy and passion each and every day!

Worldkids has been a home away from home for my daughter since she started at 3 months in infant 1. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are unbelievably kind, patient and warm, and have guided me through all the terrifying transitions of first-time parenthood. I cried when she transitioned out of her infant classroom! What a wonderful group of teachers and people.

Our daughter has been going to WorldKids for 4 months now and really loves it. She started in the infant room and absolutely adored her teachers. She learns so much when she is at daycare and is constantly doing new things. The sensory, art, music and gymnastics classes are wonderful and she is constantly engaged in the activities. The school uses an app called Procare to communicate and it's so nice to get updates on our daughters day, what she ate and how she slept and to see pictures is such a bonus. The front staff has been really lovely and communicative. We have really enjoyed having our daughter at this school and appreciate all the thought and time that goes into the potlucks and parent/teacher conferences and the day-to-day. We feel very lucky to have found WorldKids Georgetown.
