San Angelo YMCA is a great place to work out for persons of all levels of fitness. There is a workout for everyone. The weight room with weight machines and free weights. There is a mix of both casual lifters and serious lifters. There are two different types of bikes and of course treadmills in a separate workout room. There are aerobic and dance workout classes. Basketball and volleyball courts. With leagues in football, basketball, and volleyball for the kids and youth. The indoor swimming pool is great for all. There are usually two to three lanes dedicated for lap lanes. Also a good size hot tub to relax and help with aches and pains. The San Angelo YMCA is a great place for individuals or families. You will find the workout level you desire there.

Our family had been a member here for 4 years now, great place to come for a serious workout or just having fun in the pool..... the family membership makes it truly affordable to be healthy and fit. My children had learned to swim here, their pool is always clean and available (with an active and attentive lifeguards).
YMCA offer youth development, from after school programs, day camps, kids night out, etc. This summer they got summer camps ( tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, swimming, karate, etc). There are a few group fitness you can join in, like cycling, PiYo, P90X, Zumba and even Aqua Zumba.
I’ve taken a picture of their current summer pool schedule and membership fees ...check it out.
Their hours of operation: Monday to Thursday 5am to 9pm, Friday 5am to 8am, Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 1pm to 5 pm

Worst experience of any YMCA ever. Larissa rudely explained to me that I was righteously charged $115 for 4 days of use of my membership because I was a single day over the designated cancellation deadline. I did it on the 16th instead of the 15th so even though they stated to me verbally that they would cancel my membership and only charge me through the first, they went back on their word and charged my household an entire extra month. The reason we canceled was because this was the worst childcare facility we had ever seen. You literally have to walk through a hallway of kitchen appliances like a commercial refrigerator to get to the young child room where a snotty 14 yr old who clearly hates children is waiting to sign your kids in. Not safe at all. Don’t waste your money on these substandard people. 🙄

When my family arrived to San Angelo we didn’t know anyone, we became members at the YMCA to get our kids involved. In the few months we have been here my kids have taken swim lessons with Mr. Austin and spent some time in the e-sports room with Mr. Jeremy. Both have been so good with my children, they are so patient with them and have helped them learn so much. Neither of my kids had spent any amount of time in the water before we anrrived and now they can make it across the pool with relative ease. My fears with them in the water have subsided. I’m so grateful for the decision to come here and get involved the way that we have.
